![]() ![]() Whatever the issue, the game just doesn't feel right. They might have tied them to the framerate, which is considerably higher on my computer than they were on the PSX. They were probably programmed to go as fast as possible on a PSX, and I think the folks handling the port messed something up. The best guess I have is this: the physics aren't programmed with high clock speeds in mind. They feel like they are happening too fast. Turning and acceleration work very oddly. For one thing, their driving characteristics are all extremely similar, which was not the case on PSX. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is, but every single car feels very wrong. The mouse can be used for this though, so that's not really an issue. I think the game is simply running too fast on my computer. The menus are strange, there's no way to hit Enter to select Button Config that doesn't immediately kick you back out. I installed it into XP Mode and then copied the file and the registry changes over to Windows 7 and it fired right up. I have been dying to try the PC version since I figured I'd be getting a better framerate and higher res.Īs usual, installing it on Windows 7 64 bit didn't work.
